Reported by: Chris Jones Thursday, Sep 10, 2009 @11:13pm CDT Police in South Salt Lake City and Cottonwood Heights are looking for a pair of crooks, who officials say pulled off two pharmacy robberies Thursday within hours of one another.
The first one happened in South Salt Lake City at 625 East 3300 South. According to investigators a two white males, both in black hoodies, black caps and black bandannas over their faces stormed into the Rite Aid Pharmacy, pistol whipped a customer, and jumped over the counter with a gun drawn demanding the powerful painkiller Oxycontin. The pair ran from the pharmacy, scaled a fence and bolted to a waiting, gold colored Crown Victoria parked in a nearby neighborhood. An hour later at another Rite Aid on Fort Union Blvd., a white male in a white T-shirt with "Dallas Cowboys," written on the front ran into the pharmacy, pulled a gun and made off with nearly 20 tablets of the powerful narcotics. Rite Aid Pharmacies have been the targets of many Oxycontin robberies in the last few months. The store in South Salt Lake City has been robbed 4 times, the one in Cottonwood Heights, has been robbed twice in two weeks. Police say the stores are easy mark because the pharmacy is located just right inside the front doors making it a vulnerable target for crooks Copyright 2009 Four Points Media |
