    A Brigham City Police Officer has a new award hanging on his wall.

    Lt. Mike Nelsen received the “Unsung Hero” award on Friday at a special luncheon in Connecticut.

    There were 24 nominees and the committee only selects three per year.

    Lt. Nelson was selected because of his work on the Police Torch Run and Special Olympics.

    He is the only officer from Utah to receive this award since its inception.
