Friday, Nov 20, 2009 @10:01pm CST SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The University of Utah says a former associate professor has died after she fell out of a campus shuttle bus.
The university says the 63-year-old woman fell out of the bus Thursday night. She worked at the university as an associate professor in 2000 but wasn't currently teaching at the school. Her name has not been released. The university says the woman was originally from China and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2003. University of Utah police say the woman fell through the shuttle's rear doors as it made a turn. She later died. The university says the Utah Highway Patrol inspected the shuttle and found no driver error and that the shuttle appeared to be road worthy. The shuttle door also appeared to be operational. But the university says it has pulled the shuttle and two others like it from service as a precaution. --- Information from: The Salt Lake Tribune, http://www.sltrib.com (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press.
