A North Ogden man is accused of injecting a near-lethal dose of heroin into a friend's IV at a hospital.

Ryan Tyler Knighton is charged with aggravated assault and distribution of a controlled substance.

The alleged incident happened back in August when the woman was being treated at Ogden Regional Medical Center for a drug overdose.
  
Police say the woman asked Knighton to inject her with the drug. The woman reportedly stopped breathing and the man took off.
  
He later turned himself in to authorities. He is scheduled to face charges Dec. 8 in 2nd District Court.
