Salt Lake City leaders are challenging you to go green.

Mayor Ralph Becker and city sustainability experts introduced the Jordan River recycling program.

As part of the program, recycling bins have been placed at multiple sites along the Jordan River.

Also today, the city launched a new website to promote sustainability.

The website, www.slcgreen.com is a hub for local sustainability resources.

"Our community is supportive of recycling and sustainability measures to protect our important natural resources. New facilities along the Jordan River offer increased protection for the river and surrounding areas," offered Mayor Ralph Becker.

"The City is focused on helping residents and businesses employ leading practices that collectively make a difference to our environment."
