Recent storms have allowed area ski resorts to open for business.

Earlier this month, both Solitude and Brighton turned on some lifts for powder hounds.

This Friday, Snowbird Mountain Resort will open at 9 a.m. with 2 chair lifts operating.

According to a release, the resort will offer the Gadzoom and Chickadee chairlifts. The Snowbird Center and Creekside Lodge will also be open.

Many resorts plan to open in the coming weeks as more snow is forecasted to fall.

The next winter storm is expected Friday. Snowbird is offering an early season ticket price of $52. The resort also has discounts on passes and lodging. For more information, visit www.snowbird.com.
